Sensibility is a virtue men all too often cry about,
Like Bunyan’s self-pity and overbearing doubt;
Seeing women experiencing God is too much for him to bear,
He should learn to live like Pepys, who wouldn’t give a care;
Fantomina may use flawless disguises and impersonations as a trap,
But if Swift was there ala “Lady’s Dressing Room,” he could smell right through all her crap;
Equiano like Fantomina, may have been proven to be an imposter,
A subject the Blue Stockings would have discussed over their cups and saucers;
“A Beautiful Young Nymph” depicts women in the most deplorable profession,
But had they only listened to Swift’s “A Modest Proposal,” they would be freed from the oppression;
Enough babies to cure overpopulation, poverty, and hunger,
The only thing it won’t help, is making these Nymphs look any younger;
Samuel Johnson’s Rasselas offers little answers as a genuine moral tale,
So do not hope for a conclusion, for which there is no avail;
So if you really want to find happiness, look it up in Johnson’s dictionary,
Or for a modern day approach, at least google it at wiktionary
